Official Dress Guidelines
Official Dress for an FFA member includes:
• An official FFA jacket zipped to the top.
• Black slacks and black socks/nylons or black skirt and black nylons.
• White collared blouse or white collared shirt.
• Official FFA tie or official FFA scarf.
• Black dress shoes with closed heel and toe.
Note: Official garb of recognized religions may be worn with Official Dress. Also, appropriate personal protective equipment may be used with Official Dress.
In this contest, students will prepare a 10 to 12-minute mini-lesson, create a lesson plan, and present the lesson to students in a class. They will see what it is like to develop a lesson that relates to the field of agriculture and find creative and interactive ways to encourage student engagement.
This is a contest where students raise broiler chickens to be raised for a period of 6 weeks. During the duration of the contest, students will keep a record of the growth of their birds, compare to the industry standard for meat birds, and prepare the birds for butchering at the end of the 6-week period. Students will go to a FDA-approved facility to see the transformation of a live chicken to a packaged chicken.

This contest is an opportunity for students to research various challenges facing the agricultural industry. Students will research a topic and prepare an opening and closing statement. In small groups, students will discuss with other students talking about the topic and sharing the information they researched with the rest of the group and in front of a panel of judges.
The Fall Leadership Conference is held in conjunction with the teacher’s Fall Professional Development Institute and consists of two separate conference components. One conference is hosted by National FFA and encourages students to meet and interact with other students. The other day is dedicated to agricultural careers.

In this contest, students will raise rabbits to be slaughtered at an FDA-approved facility.

With over 2,500 participants annually, the Michigan FFA State Convention brings FFA members, parents, and industry leaders together to celebrate agriculture education and to celebrate the accomplishments of student members throughout their year in the FFA.
State Leadership Conference for Chapter Officers: designed to provide newly elected chapter officers with skills they need to be effective leaders of their local FFA chapter.
State Leadership Conference for Regional Officers: designed for newly elected regional officers with skills they need to be effective leaders of their region.
Washington Leadership Conference: Washington Leadership Conference (WLC) inspires FFA members to become changemakers in their communities. Each day of the conference focuses on a different principle taught through the context of our nation’s capital; those pillars being Explore, Encourage, Advocate and Serve. At the end of the week, members leave with a Living to Serve Plan they can implement in their communities.
