Delton Kellogg FFA is excited to introduce an Agricultural Olympics activity for community members of all ages to participate in. Below are the activities you will compete in during the Olympic Games. We hope to see you there and join us for a fun time!
Open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on August 9th, 2025
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. will be a trial run of the activities in a booth like manner
12:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. will be the agricultural relay where you will be tested in all four activities below. Remember to bring a partner!
Straw bale toss
Description: Competitors throw heavy hay bales for distance, showcasing strength and technique.
Rules:
Toss the hay bale as far as possible.
Each competitor gets 3 attempts; the longest valid throw wins.
Bales must be thrown using both hands—no rolling, dragging, or bouncing allowed.
Distance is measured from the starting line to the closest point where the bale first lands.
Tire toss/flip Description: Competitors flip heavy tractor tires over a distance, testing strength and endurance.
Rules:
Flip a tractor tire 50 feet.
Fastest time wins; the tire must remain upright after each flip.
*A car tire will be provided to younger community members looking to participate in the Olympic Games.
Nail Driving Description: Competitors hammer nails into wood, testing speed and accuracy.
Rules:
Each participant drives five 3-inch nails into a wooden block.
Nails must be fully driven without bending.
Fastest time wins; bent nails incur a 5-second penalty per nail.
Wheel Barrow Races Description: Pairs race with one partner pushing the other in a wheelbarrow position, testing teamwork and speed.
Rules:
One partner holds the other’s legs while they walk on hands for 30 meters.
Fastest pair to the finish line wins.
Falling requires restarting from the point of fall.
Alternative games are provided below for younger community members to engage in the Olympic Games.
Tire toss/flip
Description: Competitors flip lighter weight car tires over a distance, testing strength and endurance.
Rules:
Flip a car tire 50 feet.
Fastest time wins; the tire must remain upright after each flip.
Seed Sorting
Description: Participants sort a mix of seeds into separate containers, testing speed and precision.
Rules:
A mix of seeds (e.g., corn, beans, peas) is provided in a single container.
Participants sort seeds into labeled containers within a 3-minute time limit.
Most accurate sorting (by weight or count) wins; speed is a tiebreaker.
